Terms and conditions VVAA What you will be reimbursed In some countries, you run an extra risk of contracting infectious diseases, for example hepatitis or malaria. You can get vaccinated against these, or (usually against malaria) take medication. The following infectious diseases are common abroad: - hepatitis A and B - diphtheria, tetanus and polio (dtp) - yellow fever - typhoid fever - cholera - meningococcal disease - rabies - malaria The Start and higher supplementary insurances reimburse consultations, vaccinations and preventive medicines (such as malaria tablets) for these 11 common infectious diseases. Plus and Optimaal reimburse up to a maximum amount per calendar year. The amounts are shown at the top of this reimbursement. Student, Top and Excellent fully reimburse vaccinations and preventive medicines. These may also include vaccinations against other 'foreign' infectious diseases recommended by the LCR (National Coordination Centre for Travel Advice). This is not reimbursed - the vaccination booklet - administration costs - other resources that are recommended for a trip abroad, such as DEET and ORS (medicine against dehydration in case of diarrhoea or vomiting) What you pay yourself No personal contribution For foreign vaccinations and preventive medicines, you do not pay a personal contribution. No policy excess No policy excess applies to preventive medicines and vaccinations abroad. For preventive medicines and vaccines that you get yourself from the pharmacy, you must have a prescription. Will you receive malaria tablets, for example, or will the care provider ask you to get a vaccine yourself? We reimburse these only if they are prescribed by a doctor, and supplied by a pharmacy or dispensing GP. | |
