You can get vaccinated against these, or (usually against malaria) take medication. The following infectious diseases are common abroad: - hepatitis A and B - diphtheria, tetanus and polio (dtp) - yellow fever - typhoid fever - cholera - meningococcal disease - rabies - malaria The Start and higher supplementary insurances reimburse consultations, vaccinations and preventive medicines (such as malaria tablets) for these 11 common infectious diseases. Plus and Optimaal reimburse up to a maximum amount per calendar year. The amounts are shown at the top of this reimbursement. Student, Top and Excellent fully reimburse vaccinations and preventive medicines.
