Stay well protected during your trip to Iceland
Even though the risk of infectious diseases in Iceland is low, it is still important to observe basic measures. Consider bringing a first aid kit, protective clothing against the cold and shoes with grip for hiking over rough terrain. In addition, take extreme weather conditions into account. After all, Iceland is known for sudden turns in the weather.

Do I need vaccinations for a trip to Iceland?
No specific vaccinations are required or recommended for a trip to Iceland. However, we do recommend keeping your basic vaccinations, such as DTP and hepatitis B, up to date. This is always good preparation when travelling anywhere.
Are there other health measures I can take?
Hygiene standards in Iceland are high. Tap water is safe to drink and food safety is well regulated. In winter, be aware of cold weather conditions and be careful when it is slippery when walking or driving.
