What vaccinations are required for China?

There are no compulsory vaccinations for travelling to China, but there are several highly recommended vaccinations that protect your health.

Recommended vaccinations for China:

DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio): This vaccine is recommended as you may come into contact with these diseases in China, especially when travelling outside major cities.
Hepatitis A: This is recommended because of the potentially less hygienic conditions, especially regarding food and drink.
Typhoid fever: This vaccination is wise if your trip is longer than two weeks, or you are travelling outside tourist areas.

Japanese encephalitis: If travelling to rural areas during the rainy season, this vaccine may be considered as the disease is transmitted by mosquitoes.
