Stay well protected during your trip to South America

Besides vaccinating for South America, is there anything else you can do to stay healthy while travelling? Sure! Protect yourself from mosquito bites with an insect repellent with DEET and wear long clothes, especially in the evening hours. This is because mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, zika and malaria are prevalent in many countries in South America. We also recommend drinking only water from sealed bottles and using this water while brushing your teeth as well. Eat as little raw or insufficiently heated food as possible, especially from street food stalls. This is where you can catch food poisoning.
